Vinyl durability

Postby Scott » Thu Sep 15, 2016 11:54 am

I have heard that if a vinyl is placed with soap and water in the long term it loses the adhesive and that eventually drop out more easily.

What is your opinion?

The soapy water all it does is delay the vinyl adhesive power, once it has dried / evaporates the water the vinyl will be attached the same way as if done dry.

We use one or another technique, either dry or with soap and water, depending on the job.
We have not noticed a difference in durability when we installed vinyl with the wet technique (never been taken off us a vinyl).
Care must be taken and ensure that all the water has been well removed and haven’t left bubbles, if the water stays inside the vinyl you will have sure a problem. ;)

Exactly as I thought, the wet technique is so easy.
Thank.

Has someone figured out a better way of doing it than simply with soap and water?
